Palencia Community
Palencia, created by international developer Hines, resembles the community-oriented designs of places like historic St. Augustine and San Marco. Different from other master-planned communities in Northeast Florida, Palencia has a full range of world-class amenities. Palencia’s recreational amenities include golf, tennis, three swimming pools, a fitness center, athletic fields, pocket parks as well as a 30-acre park system interconnected by a series of boardwalks and fitness trails. Families enjoy being a part this multi-faceted, unique natural environment.
Live, explore and build cherished family memories in a place where the natural beauty of the land has remained unchanged since the birth of the continent in 1791. Teresa Hill Marchal claimed a 500-acre Spanish land grant along the Intracoastal Waterway in northeast Florida — a wild and lovely stretch of moss-draped hammocks, coastal plains and pristine tidal marshes. Today, that land forms the heart and soul of this exceptional residential community. Palencia lies on the west bank of the Intracoastal Waterway and Tolomato River, across from the 12,000 acre Guana River State Park and world-famous Ponte Vedra Beach.
Palencia’s Village Center and Amenities
Following the traditional Mediterranean style of community, the Palencia Village Center is located in the heart of the community and is a central gathering point featuring our tennis facilities with Har-Tru courts, fitness center and aquatics complex with a wonderful water slide. Palencia families enjoy the many holiday, seasonal programs and parties including the Summer Camps, Health Fairs, Halloween Haunted House and the Community Holiday Tree Lighting.
The Palencia Club
Opened in May 2002, The Palencia Club is the most exciting private club developed in the area offering wonderful social, dining and golf experiences. Members enjoy many social activities from the casual bridge clubs to the formal New Years Eve Dinner and Dance. Club opportunities are enhanced by the members-only Wine Club, Broadway Music Dinners and live music on Fridays and Saturdays at the Café on the Green. Both the novice and frequent golfer will enjoy the private golf course that journeys out to savannahs and overlooks the Intracoastal Waterway.
Carved out between centuries-old oak trees, the championship Arthur Hills golf course offers a challenging experience. The breezes from the Intracoastal Waterway require golfers to have good shot accuracy for this course. Meticulously maintained, Palencia’s golf course offers many breath-taking views along the marsh, wetlands, preserves and the Tolomato River.
Palencia lies on the west bank of the Intracoastal Waterway, across from the 12,000 acre Guana River State Park and world famous Ponte Vedra Beach. Exceptional schools, beautiful year-round weather, a lush national landscape and an endless variety of cultural and recreational opportunities make Palencia an appealing place to live. The Palencia Amenities include: Guard gated, golf clubhouse with 33,000 sq ft of dining, shopping and banquet facilities, 18 hold Championship Arthur Hills Golf course, 72-par, full-service golf pro-shop, ten lighted hydro-grid clay tennis courts, basketball court, soccer field and three baseball diamonds, pirate playground and picnic pavilion, four swimming pools including one with a 2 story slide and one with 8 lanes, state of the art fitness facility with fitness classes and spa services, 8 miles of multi-use paths, more then 300 acres of conservation areas.
