If you’re a World Golf Village resident and you haven’t heard about
Silverleaf Parkway, boy do I have news for you!

The Hutson Companies is hard at work on the huge master planned Silverleaf Plantation, which will have about 10,700 residences (plans estimated at 64 percent single-family homes and 36 percent multifamily units) as well as 1.7 million sq. ft. of commercial/retail space. Conservation lands will comprise about 3,500 sq. ft. of Silverleaf.

The 8,500-acre project has been rumored to be the next Nocatee.

So, how does this effect World Golf Village residents? For one thing, your commute north to Northern St. Johns County and Jacksonville might be changing. As the community sits right between CR 210 and SR 16 in the area historically known as Whites Ford, developers are currently paving Silverleaf Parkway.

The new thoroughfare’s north end will begin at the intersection of CR 210 and St. Johns Parkway, and the south end will start along CR 16 between Pacetti Road and Arbor Mill at Mill Creek.

The seven-mile-long parkway will wind through the heart of Silverleaf, past its numerous neighborhoods and commercial developments. Once complete, this may become a quicker way to make the drive north depending on your proximity to I95. This especially true for residents of King & Bear, Laterra Links, Heritage Landing, Arbor Mill and other nearby communities.

There’s no way to tell yet if the new four-lane road will be faster, but it’s nice to have another option (especially when I95 experiences accidents and backups). Stay tuned!
