Hurricane Dorian delivered catastrophic Category 5 damage and flooding to the people of the Bahamas last week. Tens of thousands of Bahamians are without power and many are now homeless in the wake of the storm. Those most affected where the Abacos Islands and Grand Bahama, which have combined populations of nearly 70,000 people.

To help those in need, The American Red Cross is collecting donations to provide supplies to the Bahamas.

At this time, it is a logistical challenge to deliver supplies to the islands, so the Red Cross is asking for monetary donations to do the most good. Any donations to help them get back on their feet will be immensely helpful!

There are several ways to donate!

  1. Text – Text the word “Dorian” to 90999 to automatically donate $10.
  2. Internet – Go to RedCross.org and click the “Donate Now” button under “Help People Affected by Hurricane Dorian.” Payments are accepted via credit card or PayPal. On the payment page, be sure to select “Hurricane Dorian” on the drop-down menu to indicate where you’d like your donation directed.
  3. Phone – Call 800-HELP-NOW (800-435-7669) or 855-345-GIVE (4483)
  4. Alexa – Tell Alexa: “Alexa, make a donation to Hurricane Dorian” and your donation will be processed with Amazon Pay using the information already stored in your Amazon account.

Contributions to the American National Red Cross are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. For more information, visit RedCross.org.
